Abstract Influence of Mycoplasma penetrans Antigens on the Metastasis of B-16 Mouse Melanoma Cells

Abstract
Influence of Mycoplasma penetrans antigen on the growth of B-16 mouse melanoma cells (B-16 cells) and on the changes of adherence activity of B-16 cells on the monolayer culture of mouse lung cells were investigated. The lung metastasis of B-1.6 cells treated with or without M. penetrans antigen was evaluated by the colony count of metastatic foci. In the spleen leukocytes of mice which were inoculated with M. penetrans antigen or B-16 cells, and "both of B-16 cells and M. penetrans antigen, population of T cell subsets was evaluated by the Flow cytometer using each mono-clonal antibody.
The B-~16 cells was only colonized in lung of mice pretreated with or without M. penetrans antigen. The lung metastasis and adherence activities of B-16 cell pre-treated with M. penetrans antigen were decreased than that of control. The B-16 cells treated with M. penetrans antigen was aggregated with each other cells.
The growth of B-16 cells was not influenced by treated with 10u1/ml of M. penetrans antigen or its antibody and both of antigen antibody during 96 hours after inoculation. But the growth of B-16 `cells was inhibited by pretreated 100ul/ml M. penetrans antigen during 96 hours after inoculation. The peicentage of total T cells, Th cells, Ts cells and
NK cells in the spleen of mice-were decreased -by, -treatment with M. penetrans antigen. - The percentages of total T cells, Th cells, and Ts cells in the spleen of mice were increased by inoculated with B-16 cells or B-16 cells and M. penetrans antigen.
These result revealed that lung metastasis of B-16 melanoma cells are suppressed by ¢¥treated with M. penetrans antigen.¢¥ The suppression of lung metastasis of 13-16 melanoma cell may be due to the low adherence activity of B-16 cell. and the augmentation of celluar immune response from M. penetrans antigen.
